A Prodigal Son Testimony

Malo e lelei everyone. First and foremost, I give all glory, honour, and praise to God. I'm grateful for the opportunity to share what Jesus Christ has done in my life.

A Faithful Foundation

I was blessed to be raised by faithful parents who served God in the Tongan Methodist Church. As a child, I witnessed their love for the Lord. I saw their faith, their hope, and their commitment to Christ every single day. They didn't just talk about God, they lived for Him.

Despite having that foundation, I chose a different path. I didn't leave my earthly home, I left my Father's house. I followed the ways of the world - drinking and partying, chasing temporary pleasures, and looking up to people who lived for the world instead of for God.

Before I knew it, the things of this world had become my idols, and I drifted further and further away from the One who truly loved me.

Even while I was running from God, my parents never stopped praying for me. They constantly encouraged me to stay connected to Him. Looking back now, I realise those prayers were carrying me, even when I didn't know it.

Reaching the Lowest Point

For many years, I wandered spiritually lost, searching for happiness, peace, and purpose in the world. But no matter what I chased, nothing could fill the emptiness inside me. Then life humbled me. As a husband and a father, I reached the lowest point of my life. I came to the end of myself. It was in my brokenness that I finally realised I needed Jesus.

Coming Home

In 2019 during an encounter with God, I made the decision to surrender my life to Christ. That was the day I came home. Like the father in the story of the prodigal son, God didn't meet me with condemnation. He met me with mercy. He wrapped His arms around me, forgave me, and welcomed me home.

It was as if He said, "Welcome home, my son." That moment changed everything. I realised that my life had never really belonged to me. It belonged to the One who created me. So I simply gave back to God what had always been His, my life.

I surrendered the Creator's creation back into His hands. Since returning home, I have found the forgiveness, peace, joy, and purpose that I spent years searching for in the world but could never find.

I stand here today not because I am perfect, but because God is faithful. I am living proof of His love, His mercy, and His amazing grace. His Word says, "Greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world," and I can testify that this is true.

Built on the Rock

Today, I try to live with purpose. My decisions are more intentional because my life is now built on the solid foundation of Jesus Christ. As Matthew 7:24 says, the wise man builds his house upon the Rock. Christ is now the Rock on which I stand.

My Message to You

If there's one thing I want you to remember from my testimony, it's this: No one is ever too far gone for God. No matter how far you've wandered, the Father's arms are still open. His grace is greater than our sin, His mercy is new every morning, and His love never fails.

To God be all the glory. And I boldly declare that Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
